Buckingham is a short journey away from Milton Keynes (around 30 minutes), Oxford (45 minutes) and London (45 mins train via Milton Keynes or Bicester).

Shopping and other services

Fancy a bit of shopping? Bicester Village (designer outlet) is a 25 minute journey away by car and around 40 minutes via the local X5 bus.

Student dining

The Refectory in the Students’ Union (Old Tanlaw Mill) serves hot food from breakfast to dinner (evening meal) from Monday to Friday.

  • The Film Place is Buckingham’s own local cinema. It transforms the lecture theatre at the University of Buckingham into a cinema which provides 160 seats.
  • Stowe is 3 miles away from the University and is a great place to visit when your family pop by. Now a Boarding School the gardens of Stowe were originally created as an earthly paradise and still cast their spell today with plenty of grounds to walk and explore.
  • The Old Gaol is located in the town centre of Buckingham and is an old jail. Walk through thousands of years of Buckingham history, from the prehistoric to the Second World War.
